The cornerstone of Valtra's operations is its modular system that enables the production of a tailor-made tractor to meet each customer's needs. Customers are also welcome to follow the production their tractors at the factory. 

As the first tractor manufacturer in the world, Valtra was granted the ISO 9001 quality certificate in 1993. In 2000 Valtra obtained the ISO 14001 environmental certificate in 2000. In 2003 Valtra was granted the OHSAS 18001 certificate for Occupational Health and Safety Management. Valtra is thus the first tractor manufacturer in Europe to hold all three certificates.

Valtra controls the development and manufacturing of its main components. The company uses SisuDiesel engines which are also used in competitor's tractors, combine harvesters, generating sets and in many different kinds of construction machines.
